Over two decades, Sactown's premiere Rock n' Roll Club continues to deliver the hottest names in today's music, complete with two full bars, table service, great food and a smokers-welcome outdoor patio.

It's said that Sacramento picked up where Seattle left off in grinding out tomorrow's superstars. The Boardwalk has been very much a part of that legacy by continuing to showcase California's hot new talent.

The Boardwalk also presents memorable shows from bands like Hoobastank, Mudvayne, The Used, Story of the Year, Switchfoot, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed and Cambria, Collective Soul, Slightly Stoopid, Thrice, The Rev. Horton Heat, Dick Dale and many more.

Joe's Grotto was established in 1994 by owner,operator and fellow musician. Joe Grotto after 2 yrs of struggle won $75,000 in Las Vegas and took that money and invested it into the club. With the help of some very talented people (Steve McDonald- sound, Mike Morrow - Lights, Paul Surra and Mike Giacalone- Stage) he went on to build the very best "showcase" for a bar this size. At 3600 sq. ft., Joe's is a warm and intimate venue to play. And with the support of Joe, the staff ( some have been here almost as long as Joe- Ray Johnson and Rick Smith) and the best audience a band could ask for. We strive to make a band feel like the center of attention. "It's all about the show". Consequently, many bands call the Grotto home and their favorite bar to play resulting in the best shows you'll see. It always has been a group effort with the support of some of the best people. There's music 6 nights a week and drink specials every night. There are 2 open mic nights a week at Joe's . Monday is an acoustic open mic and Wed. is for bands either looking for a gig or just a great place to play. We are located at 32nd street and Thunderbird in Phoenix, AZ on the Northeast corner.

All ages venue, metal bands and decent beer prices if you get it by the pint. The sound system is better than fair and moshing is allowed at your own risk.
